Slow Cooker 3 Ingredient Chocolate Caramel Fudge

My house is slightly divided on the whole fudge situation.  My son and I are super uber chocolate lovers.  Never in my life have I ever said “that dessert was good but it was too chocolatey “.   Straight up. Never.

My manly man and daughter on the other hand think chocolate treats are “just ok”.

So I added a little twist of flavors to this fudge recipe.  CARAMEL.

When I pulled the pan of fudge from the fridge and my Manly Man’s heard the word caramel, his eyes widened and  his ears perked up like our wiener dog when she hears a food wrapper crinkle from across the room.

After a few bites he said he liked that the fudge didn’t have “that grainy texture” like other fudge he’s had over the years.

I’m having flashbacks to my childhood.  My mom’s homemade fudge was like that.  It was a little bit like chewing chocolate flavored sand.  But we still ate it!

  Sorry mom.

This fudge is soft and creamy with a nice hint of caramel flavor, almost butterscotchy.  ( is that a word? Spellchecker says no.)  Gently melting the chocolate in the slow cooker creates a nice smooth texture as well.  So yummy!

Oh Lori Ann – you sure grabbed my attention with this one. I’m so tickled to see that can of caramel…I couldn’t resist buying one the other day and keep thinking of what I could make with it. You have solved that problem. This is going to be made and enjoyed MUCH, I have no doubt. Thanks and thanks again for sharing with us at Weekend Potluck. Please come again soon.
